¿Quiénes son los destinatarios?
Los alumnos del Instituto Universitario Ortega-Marañón matriculados en los Másteres oficiales del mismo podrán solicitar una beca del Programa Excelencia de la Fundación José Ortega y Gasset – Gregorio Marañón. Estas becas cubrirán un 30% del precio de matrícula, excluida las tasas que se abonan a la Universidad de referencia del Máster.
¿Qué necesito presentar y dónde?
Interested parties must submit an application form to the Institute's secretariat when formalizing registration, together with the payment of the place reservation, and send it to the Institute's secretariat no later than October 18, 2024 . In which it is stated:
- Datos personales
- El Máster en el que está matriculado
- La documentación que aporta
- Las becas que haya solicitado o tenga intención de solicitar en cualquier convocatoria pública o privada
Los criterios para la concesión de las becas son: 1) expediente académico (70%), 2) situación personal o familiar (10%), 3) residencia fuera de Madrid en el año anterior a su matriculación (10%), 4) carta de motivación personal (10%). Los alumnos deberán entregar la documentación que acredite cada una de estas circunstancias y podrán adjuntar dos cartas de recomendación de profesores. El Instituto podrá solicitar a los candidatos seleccionados que acrediten la autenticidad de los documentos que hayan presentado con originales o copias compulsadas.
¿Cómo discurre el proceso de selección? ¿Es compatible con otras becas o ayudas?
La Comisión Académica que concede las becas estará integrada por el director del Instituto, la directora general de la Fundación José Ortega y Gasset – Gregorio Marañón, dos personas de la secretaría académica y dos profesores del Instituto nombrados a propuesta del director del Instituto y de la directora general. Esta Comisión, según los informes recibidos, realizará la evaluación y selección de candidatos y elevará a la dirección antes del 1 de diciembre, una propuesta de concesión de becas para su comunicación formal a los candidatos seleccionados.
El Programa de Becas Excelencia de la Fundación José Ortega y Gasset – Gregorio Marañón son ayudas al estudio incompatibles con cualquier otra beca de convocatorias públicas o privadas para los mismos estudios de posgrado. El becario tiene obligación de comunicar al Instituto cualquier otra beca que se le conceda, en un plazo de 10 días desde su concesión.
¿Cómo se aplica y cuándo?
La beca implica la reducción de la matrícula por un importe que se fijará cada curso académico en función del número de estudiantes matriculados. Esta reducción del importe se aplicará al último plazo del pago de la matrícula.
¿Qué se me puede pedir en caso de recibir la beca?
El Instituto podrá solicitar a los becados que realicen actividades de apoyo a la docencia, investigación y la cultura de la institución, las cuales les serán acreditadas. Estas actividades de colaboración no implicarán relación laboral ni mercantil con la institución ni serán remuneradas.
Becas del Programa ALUMNI
Los antiguos alumnos del Instituto Universitario Ortega-Marañón tendrán derecho a un 5% de descuento en cualquier programa nuevo que se matriculen. Este descuento, que tendrá la consideración de una beca, será aplicado sobre el precio de la matrícula, excluidas las tasas que se abonan a la Universidad de referencia. El descuento se aplicará en el último plazo del pago de la matrícula.
Para optar a dicha beca, el alumno tendrá que entregar en la secretaría del Instituto una solicitud, así como la documentación que acredite haber sido alumno del Instituto.
En ningún caso, este descuento se aplicará a segundas o sucesivas matrículas de asignaturas que no hayan sido aprobadas ni a asignaturas de un mismo programa que no se hayan cursado en el primer año de matriculación.
Curriculum
The study plan of the Master's Degree in Contemporary Culture, Literature, Artistic Institutions and Cultural Communication consists of two training modules.
Module I. Contemporary culture: Literature, Art and Regulation of Cultural Institutions

Module II. News of the arts, artistic institutions and cultural communication
Optional. 24 credits
- Subject II.1 Culture of contemporary Modernity: Theories and Communication (12 ECTS credits)
- Subject II.2 Trends and figures in current Literature (12 ECTS credits)
- Subject II.3: Current Art Trends: Cinema and audiovisual arts (12 ECTS credits)
- Subject II.4: Regulation and current management of artistic institutions and cultural industries (12 ECTS credits)
Trabajo Fin de Máster
Mandatory. 12 credits
Competencias Generales
In accordance with the basic competencies included in RD 1393/2007 as the descriptors that appear in the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Higher Education (MECES), in the different training modules that make up the academic programming of the Master, special attention will be paid to the development of the student's ability/s to:
CG1. Given the specific peculiarity of the Master in Contemporary Culture, the competence in applying the acquired knowledge and solving problems in new or little-known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their areas of knowledge is particularly tutelable and required.
CG2. Integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
CG3. Communicate your conclusions to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
CG4. Develop the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous. This competence is particularly relevant to the specifically contemporary object of a Master's degree with its characteristics.
Competencias Transversales
CT1. Ability to use advanced teamwork methodologies. Specifically [ CT1.1] have the ability to use personal resources that facilitate motivation, communication and teamwork and [ CT1.2] have the ability to plan, design and develop viable projects with an attitude based on tolerance and respect in teamwork.
CT2. Have the skills to manage, analyze, search and prepare information from diverse sources, related to contemporary artistic and literary theory and practice, as well as the cultural institutions and companies that convey them. To do this, both the traditional ways are reviewed - being able, therefore, to handle literary, artistic, philosophical or journalistic texts: understanding them, analyzing them and debating them - as well as information and communication technologies. Secondly, [ CT2.2] understand and use the concepts and terminology specific to the corresponding area of study and have the ideal skills to develop work mechanisms and strategies. Specifically, the student's capacity for argumentation and development of critical reasoning to make judgments based on the acquired knowledge and the student's capacity for abstraction and synthesis in the application of theory to practice are considered ideal skills.
CT3. Have experience in the public presentation and defense of ideas, procedures or research reports. To do this, the student will be required [ CT3.1] to be able to make oral presentations, expressing themselves precisely, in an argued manner and in accordance with logic and [ CT3.2] to be able to write, in the same way, texts writings, which also respond to the basic characteristics and rules of use in scientific communication (structure, bibliography, citations, etc.).
Competencias Específicas
CE1. Have sufficient conceptual foundations to be able to understand the main methodological aspects in Theory and contemporary practice of the Arts and/or Theory of Literature and current literary practice.
CE2. Acquire a representative vision of current Spanish and international artistic and literary practice through supervised and direct contact with the Master's teaching staff, all of whom are specialists, academics and professionals with extensive experience in the different areas of study that make up these studies.
CE3. Have the ability to develop professional advisory strategies for individuals and legal entities in the field of Art and Literature with their corresponding Institutions or companies and their current specific tasks (entities, organizations and public or private institutions).
