Institut Mines-Telecom Business School

Institut Mines-Telecom Business School is the Business School of the IMT group, the leading group of engineering and management schools in France.

A management school with a responsible approach to digital transformation

IMT-BS trains innovative managers and entrepreneurs who are open to the world and who will guide organizations through the digital, energy, and ecological, economic, and industrial transitions that will be at the heart of tomorrow’s society.

Drawing on the relevance of its research and educational programs, its support to innovation and entrepreneurship, its proximity to companies, and its strong links with the local community, Institut Mines-Telecom Business School strives for excellence in order to contribute to national and local economic development and to create value for all its stakeholders.

IMT-BS shares its campus with the engineering school Télécom SudParis, also a member of the IMT.

IMT-BS welcomes 1,500 students, is annually ranked among the best French and European business schools, and is AACSB and AMBA accredited.

The Business School of social inclusion

A leading public management school under the authority of the Ministry of the Economy, IMT-BS is the Business School of social inclusion. It provides its students with an exceptional ratio between the cost of education, the level of salary upon hiring, and the ability to find a job quickly and over the long term.

Our mission

Mixing cultures

In 1979, the former Institut National des Télécommunications began training the engineers and managers from France Télécom (today known as Orange) on the same campus. As the two different business cultures started mixing together and sharing their work, new synergies began to emerge. Today, this hybrid approach remains the driving force behind our Business School at Institut Mines-Telecom, France’s leading engineering school group.

Helping our students achieve their full potential

Institut Mines-Telecom Business School has always been at the forefront of digital and societal transformations. As a public and socially inclusive higher education institution, we take great pride in welcoming and individually supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds. We help them develop the inter-communication skills and personal qualities required for a successful future in a constantly changing world.

Bringing talents together

Technology is accelerating the transformation of the world as we know it, meaning that business organizations have to be more agile, open, and increasingly horizontal in the way they work. They, therefore, need talented, responsibly-minded individuals who are capable of taking initiative and inspiring experts from different fields to work together.

At IMT-BS, this is our mission. We aim to equip each individual talent with the knowledge and skills to make a key contribution to collective change for a more responsible world.

Our values

  • Boldness through its methodological innovations and its training for entrepreneurship in all its forms.
  • Excellence in its research and the recognition of its graduates in the labor market.
  • Openness by the diversity of its students, by the role of companies in its curriculum, and by its openness to the world.
  • Responsibility through its work on ethics and its commitments to all its stakeholders.

Uniting skills

A baseline at the heart of digital challenges signature Uniting Skills - IMT-BS

  • Uniting skills is above all about reasserting one of the School’s main differences and strengths: a place where engineers and managers meet, in a close relationship the School has organized and fostered since it was founded.
  • Uniting skills is also a buzzword common to the students, faculty, and all partners of the School: undertaking and putting to work their complementary areas of expertise, a key factor in a changing world.

Campus Features

Fostering the Engineer-Manager dual culture on our campus

The 6-hectare campus is located in Evry-Courcouronnes, in the Grand Paris Sud local area. It is an American-style campus shared between Institut Mines-Telecom Business School and Télécom SudParis.

All year long, students from both schools live and work there together.

They share housing, community life, cultural and sports activities, language and humanities courses, several educational programs as well as some specialization majors (in the Master 2 year).

They acquire more than just skills: a dual culture, a hybrid engineer-manager mindset that enables them to work on a daily basis with engineers in companies, to carry out digital transformation projects with the specialized engineers in their company.

This in-depth blending is permanent, regular, and omnipresent.

On the campus, many infrastructures are available: a gymnasium, a workout room, three tennis courts, basketball, soccer, rugby, and beach volleyball courts, but also a bar for evening gatherings, a foyer that serves as a nightclub, and premises for each association.

Institut Mines-Telecom Business School’s results in the rankings reflect not only its academic excellence but also the strength of its corporate partnerships and its international outreach.

With graduates whose salaries are higher than the average for French business schools, IMT-BS stands out, especially when it comes to professional integration.

Surveys and rankings (FT, l’Etudiant) conducted among the School’s graduates confirm these results. With a 100% recommendation rate from its graduates and 5 out of 5 points for overall satisfaction, IMT-BS has become a school that meets the expectations of its students, as much in terms of academics and student life as in terms of professional integration.

The return on investment is widely recognized by graduates in the annual surveys of the Financial Times, and IMT-BS remains the number one business school in terms of added value, a major indicator in this prestigious ranking.

The 1st French business school for added value (Financial Times 2021)

    • 1st for added value (Financial Times 2021)

    • 8th for salaries (salaries upon graduation and salaries after 3 years. L'Etudiant 2021)
    • 16th in the SIGEM 2021 ranking

L’Etudiant also ranks IMT-BS in the Top 6 for overall graduate satisfaction. 100% of the graduates recommend IMT-BS.

At the international level, Institut Mines-Telecom Business School is ranked in 59th place worldwide in the Financial Times “Masters in Management 2017” ranking, which ranks the best pre-experience master programs*. The School is thus ranked 17th in France. It is worth noting that, although this ranking has traditionally been in favor of French business schools, its latest edition is characterized by major methodological changes that have strongly disadvantaged French schools.

*pre-experience masters are different from the Anglo-Saxon-inspired MBA programs. They are designed for people who already have at least 3 years of professional experience.
