Curriculum
Today, no matter the role or industry, having a foundation in technology is a must. This master’s is an intensive, one-year program in computer science and business technology with a hands-on approach and flexibility for students to design their own learning path. The broad overview of tech and computer science that this program offers makes it suitable for a wide range of academic backgrounds and career goals.
The program puts a spotlight on the most in-demand knowledge and skills in the professional market, preparing students to obtain specialized certifications from relevant tech leaders. The aim of this program is for graduates to be able to “connect the dots” between business and technology, understanding how tech can transform organizations. Classes are primarily taught by leading industry practitioners from top tech players such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle, giving students the opportunity to meet and learn from the experts.
We cover core courses in all three stages, which are completely integrated.
Also included in Periods 1 and 2 are Optional Labs and Technology Trends forums which take an experiential learning approach and provide a practical perspective with workshops featuring leading experts.

Elective Period
Term Impact project - Software project
The elective period also offers you the opportunity to sharpen your career focus by choosing to cluster your courses within a concentration area, allowing you to use electives to customize and complement your program core courses and pave the way to your dream job. Take half of your electives in a particular area, choosing the remaining courses from the academic areas that best fit your career objectives.
The third term is designed fully flexible for the students to choose the contents of their interest. However, there are some predefined learning journeys to get deeper knowledge in any of the so-called ‘concentrations´.

Impact Project
The Master in Computer Science & Business Technology ends with a final Impact Project involving the design, implementation, and deployment of a website or application.
The topic and content of the project are entirely up to the student.
There are several ways that students can approach the project:
- Alone, developing their own unique idea.
- In collaboration with other students, developing a tech-based business idea for the project.
- In collaboration with a company (selected by IE University) in the format of a business challenge.
