Introduction

As a society, we have entered an age of digitisation – the fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0. This puts new demands on future engineers. With training central to the development of smart factories, including automation, industry robots and simulation technology, you will be keenly sought after. This two-year programme is taught on campus in Trollhättan and all your studies have a close link to industry.

We live in the era of robots

There is an ongoing digitisation all around the world, and this has brought about explosive growth in the use of robots and automation solutions. This development implicates not only industry but entire cultures.

What we are witnessing is the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). We not only have smart robots, but units with sensors and inbuilt systems that are connected to networks (Internet of Things, IoT). These technologies, together with advanced simulation (digital twins) and artificial intelligence (AI), form the foundation for smart factories.

The courses that make up the programme offer you in-depth knowledge of smart factories and prepare you well for contributing to their development. You learn the design and programming of robots and automation systems. The entire programme has been built through the collaboration of industry and researchers at University West.

Please note that this is a full-time programme. We recommend students not to combine their studies with a job.
