International Foundation Year Programme

International Foundation Year Programme (IFYP) equips students from different countries with the skills and knowledge required for undergraduate courses at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). It offers an alternative path to further studies at HKSYU apart from mainstream public examinations such as A-Levels, GCE or International Baccalaureate (IB). In this programme, international students will improve their academic English Language proficiency and enhance their study skills and understanding of arts, social science, and business. Students who complete this programme and fulfil specific GPA and language requirements will be eligible for many undergraduate programmes from HKSYU.

Pathway to HKSYU

By studying this programme, students can benefit in the long term by enhancing their language abilities and getting an insight into their chosen subject ahead of beginning their university degree. Students can meet the entrance requirements for the undergraduate programmes offered through the Hong Kong Shue Yan University if they successfully achieve the following requirements:

• Fulfilling the graduation requirement of the IFYP
  • achieve at least 25 credit points required by the programme; and
  • pass all core courses of the programme; and
  • obtain a programme GPA of 2.00 or above
• Language requirement: IELTS 5.50 or above (or equivalent)
• Face-to-face interviews and so forth may be instituted as deemed necessary
