Summary

Today, most of us have a smartphone, are permanently online and, of course, use various online services and social media channels. We surround ourselves with devices that communicate with each other around the clock and increasingly make autonomous decisions for us.

In addition to all the possibilities, the technical developments of recent years also harbor security risks. How safe or vulnerable are we and our data? The use of highly networked systems requires an awareness of the threats to these systems and interlocking security measures.

As a graduate of the "IT Security and Mobile Systems" course, you have the security of the systems you develop in mind. You are able to design, develop and implement systems including the appropriate security concepts.

goals and career prospects

The bachelor's degree prepares you directly for a job or serves as the basis for a master's degree. General knowledge of computer science will qualify you in all areas of software development. The specialization of the course also opens up other exclusive fields of employment in the field of IT security, mobile systems and the intersection of these areas.

job descriptions

The course prepares you for responsible and demanding activities, such as in the following areas:

  • IT security consulting, analysis and testing
  • Design, construction, administration and operation of computer networks and information systems with special consideration of security aspects
  • Software development, especially for distributed and mobile applications, taking security aspects into account
  • Development of intelligent and safe assistance systems as well as
  • Management and leadership tasks

Program structure

The standard period of study is seven semesters, including the practical part of the course. The main focus of the sub-area of IT security are the qualifications from the areas of network and system security and cryptography, which are very important today. The focus of the Mobile Systems sub-area is software development.

Basic training takes place in the first semesters so that you understand the complex systems in computer science. In addition to the compulsory modules, you also decide in the fourth semester for an elective course and choose between big data, cryptographic protocols, maintenance, artificial intelligence and graphic data processing. You will gain a further specialization in the higher semesters and work, among other things, on joint projects in a team.

You can get a taste of working life in the 5th semester: This practical study semester comprises a total of 20 weeks and is completed outside of the university in a company, authority or institution.
