Industrial engineering degree study concept

The structure of the course is based on the professional profile of the industrial engineer in corporate practice. According to the "Association for Industrial Engineers Germany", the tasks and problems at the interfaces between technology and business are increasing. Due to the existing specialization, there is an increasing lack of understanding and expertise in dealing with complex processes. Technical and commercial thinking in one is required. Industrial engineers close this gap. Due to a broad and almost equally balanced training in engineering on the one hand and economics on the other hand, you are able to recognize economically, technically and socially relevant questions and to contribute to answering them.

At the Hochschule Schmalkalden Sciences you will not first be trained as an engineer and then as a business economist, but study business administration and engineering in parallel (integrative study concept).
