This department is the only department of a national university established in 1989 according to the necessity of the modern knowledge and information society. It has produced 300 enrolled students, 1,500 undergraduate graduates, and 100 engineering masters, and 25 technicians related to equipment, which are the hallmarks of the best engineers. With the best history and tradition in the facility field, we are engaged in outstanding activities in various fields such as facility industry sites such as construction facilities, industrial facilities, energy industry, and engineering fields as well as startups and public servants.

Facility Engineering is a discipline that targets โ€œbuilding, human, energy, and environmentโ€. It creates an optimal human-friendly environment for the work environment, living environment, and leisure environment, which are the centers of modern digital convergence, and is the main cause of climate change. It is an academic field that creates an era of green revolution to effectively build the energy system of buildings. Therefore, it is a field of study that combines multi-disciplinary fields that require comprehensive knowledge and integrated thinking that talented people in the modern world must possess, and is a highly dynamic field of study, and the field of employment and technical activities is rapidly expanding.

Modern buildings/facilities are becoming high-rise, large-scale, and diversified in function according to the demands of economic growth and high-quality living (working) environments. Accordingly, the functions and roles of building facilities are advanced, systematized, automated, and intelligent. Recognizing the crisis, it is actively promoting greening. In order to meet this, it goes beyond the universalization of smart buildings that require integrated services including building equipment/automation, information communication, video systems, and office automation, and green building, and zero energy due to global environmental problems. The advent of the house era, the increase in cleanrooms due to the increase in high-tech industries and laboratories, remodeling and reconstruction of buildings, and the demand for expansion of environmental facilities based on resource conservation are increasing rapidly.

Accordingly, the Department of Architectural Equipment Engineering was expanded and reorganized into the Department of Equipment Engineering that encompasses plant equipment in 2012, and learned basic knowledge of buildings, environmental equipment, energy systems, and plants, and acquired specialized knowledge and integrated technology for various equipment uses to design and construct equipment. It will be reborn as the only Graduate School of Equipment Engineering in Korea that fosters creative and internationally competitive high-quality engineers with practical skills and expertise in maintenance and maintenance.

Therefore, in the development of not only building machinery and equipment, but also into a highly industrial and knowledge-based information society, the industrial equipment (plant) construction sector is becoming a new growth engine. As engineering, equipment export, construction and operation, and other areas that create high added value, the role of the Graduate School of Facility Engineering is considered to be a very important point as it is expected to continuously create high added value through the incorporation of advanced technologies. Therefore, it is contributing greatly to cultivating professional technicians who will lead the construction machinery and plant equipment industries in the present and future by conducting research that is suitable for high-end technical practice in the facility industry, and is practical and applicable.
