The Global Business major aims to cultivate professionals in international trade by providing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, along with strong foreign language proficiency. The program is designed to train future experts who can meet the demands of an increasingly globalized world. The curriculum includes:
- Liberal arts education to foster a broad understanding of globalization and develop critical and scientific thinking
- English and a second foreign language (such as Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish) to prepare students for international business environments
- Specialized knowledge in international trade and management through core subjects like economics, management, and finance
Since 2010, Hallym University has been the only Asian member of the International Business Studies Exchange Network (IBSEN), which includes 12 partner universities in Europe. Through this network and support from the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, we offer various academic exchange opportunities and student abroad programs (SAP).
We also offer a Korean Studies major, open to both international and Korean students. This program includes around ten courses each semester covering Korean history, politics and diplomacy, economics, society, and contemporary culture and the arts, providing a well-rounded understanding of Korea.
Graduates of the Global Business major pursue diverse career paths in public and private enterprises, research institutes, and financial institutions, both in Korea and abroad. Many also continue their studies at leading graduate schools worldwide. Thanks to their strong language skills and practical, career-focused education, our students are well-prepared for the global job market. In recent years, an increasing number of graduates have also launched startups, applying the entrepreneurial mindset they developed during their undergraduate studies.
