Introduction

Bachelor of International Relations

The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (BA-IR) is a modular 3-year programme that provides the theoretical foundations, practical insights and analytical skills to make sense of International Relations, International Law and the Global Economy. The programme offers a unique combination of theoretical training, practical exercises and professional internship positions.

At the Geneva School of Diplomacy (GSD) courses are taught by experienced academics and distinguished practitioners with backgrounds in government, diplomacy, international organisations, civil society and business. Our diverse faculty share a deep humanitarian commitment, and a desire to encourage, challenge and inspire students.

To assist in understanding how theoretical insights apply to real-world situations, the BA-IR combines core and elective modules that blend various teaching and learning methods, including lectures and seminars, workshops and simulations, as well as personalised assignments and numerous opportunities to explore, develop, present and debate ideas and aspirations.
