Key Summary
Introduction
Your Future in Healthcare is Waiting
The field of healthcare is made up of a diverse range of professions but often when we think of the typical careers in the industry, we think of doctors, nurses, and dentists. However, with a degree in allied health, there is a wide variety of opportunities that go beyond the typical nurse or physician roles.
The Applied Health Science major is designed both for students who want to immediately enter the professional world upon graduation as well as students entering post-graduate degree programs in the fields of athletic training, chiropractic, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other allied health professions. Upon graduation, you will have an in-depth understanding of biomechanics, functional anatomy, nutrition, and movement science. Depending upon your chosen track, you may also learn about exercise physiology, evidence-based research and application, motor learning, coaching, exercise program planning and implementation, and more.
