Introduction

Baccalaureate in Health & Human Performance

The Department of Health & Physical Education provides a challenging program which will provide students with the academic knowledge and technical skills that will prepare them for a variety of career paths in the rapidly growing fields of health, fitness, wellness, and human performance. Graduates of the program will additionally be prepared to pursue advanced degrees in their major field of study or a related field.

The program offers degrees in the fields of Pre-Nursing, Physical Education, and Health and Human Performance.

Health and Human Performance

Students seeking a degree in Health and Human Performance can major in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, or Athletic Conditioning and Coaching.

Exercise Science

Students majoring in Exercise Science will complete their degree program with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in the Life Sciences, which will prepare individuals for entry-level positions in a variety of professional environments, including:

  • Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Personal Training
  • Exercise Specialist
  • Cardiopulmonary Technologist
  • Corporate/Worksite Wellness
  • Exercise Physiologist
  • Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach

Health Promotion

Students majoring in Health Promotion will finish their degree program with the skills to gain positions in a variety of community health settings, including public health departments, hospital-based health programs, professional and commercial health organizations, corporate health settings and volunteer organizations.
