Prepare to identify and address mild to severe disabilities and behavioral disorders with an online Master of Education in Special Education (MSPED) from George Mason University. Taught by an expert faculty of researchers, educators, and innovators, this program equips students with the skills to empower people with disabilities and behavioral disorders across the lifespan.

George Mason’s MEd in Special Education offers two optional focus areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Behavior Analysis (BA). The MSPED – ASD prepares students to provide lifelong support to people with autism, while the MSPED – BA teaches students to analyze human behavior and conduct behavior analytic research in a variety of settings.

Students pursuing the MSPED – ASD will graduate with two credentials: a master’s degree and an ASD Graduate Certificate. George Mason’s ASD Graduate Certificate is also available as a standalone credential. The MSPED – BA program is designed to meet the BACB 2027 Pathway 2 requirements for eligibility to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst examination

Learning online, you can complete this program in 24 months while studying part-time with the flexibility to balance your classes with personal and professional responsibilities. With three start dates per year, it’s always a good time to apply for George Mason’s online MEd in Special Education.
