Introduction
TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Media Production – Filmmaking Management (RQF)
This 16 month diploma film program provides aspiring filmmakers with the whole range of visual literacy and filmmaking experiences as they learn to write, direct, produce, shoot and edit several groups and individual short film/video projects, including MOS Films, Sync Dialogue Films, Music Videos, Promotional Videos, Television Shows and Documentary Shorts.
Each project involves the technical, creative and business elements of production. Students develop stories from concept to finished films, hone their skills as visual storytellers and practice their craft through a variety of projects. They collaborate with their peers on all projects, to actively participate in multiple technical disciplines and to gain both understanding and respect for their value in the creative process. The program emphasizes the ensemble nature of a film crew and highlights professional etiquette to facilitate successful and effective overall crew performance.
There are four main concentrations of studies in the GeniusQuest Film School Diploma Program: Screenwriting, Directing and Producing, Cinematography and Sound, and Editing. The final term is devoted to students developing their thesis projects that serve to showcase their filmmaking capacities for career launch.

Admissions Process
Full-time Film Course Admissions
The GeniusQuest Film School admissions process for full-time courses has been designed to enable us to select students who have a reasonable chance of successfully completing their course. This is normally judged by their achievements and their potential.
There is a three-stage selection process:
- Pre-Application
- Video Application
- Selection
Pre-Application
This is the initial contact between potential students and GeniusQuest. This usually starts when a student completes the Request Information short form on our website. Once this form is received we will contact the student directly and explain more details about our courses and answer any questions that the student may have.
Video Application
We are looking for students that have a passion for film. We are requesting all full-time school applicants to submit a short, autobiographical video from one to two minutes in length. We want to see and hear about you, your family, your interests and anything else that you would like to show us in a creative way. This can be filmed and edited on a smartphone using I-movie or other similar apps. You can see an example of what we are looking for on our Video Application page. We are not expecting you to create a video to the level of our sample, but we are looking to see your creativity.
