About: The PhD in Technical Informatics and Telecommunications at Gdańsk University of Technology trains doctoral students in state-of-the-art information and communication technologies. The programme for PhD in Technical Informatics and Telecommunications is aimed at teaching doctoral students innovative and state-of-the-art techniques, methodologies and implementations of information and communication technologies (ICT). The programme includes obligatory and facultative courses which highlight aspects of data exchange, processing and analysis, as well as lectures by visiting professors from related research areas. The most important topics covered by the programme are: data and signal acquisition, storage, analysis and visualization, information encoding, exchange and dissemination, as well as the design principles of telecommunication systems and networks, radio communication, and radiolocation. The courses offer a broad and interdisciplinary insight into the scientific methods of ICT, and provide examples of their application to a variety of disciplines. The available research opportunities include applications of ICT methods to medicine, land and sea engineering, navigation, education, homeland security and others.
Above all, the programme provides the doctoral students with background in the fields of technical informatics and telecommunications, ranging through a wide plethora of industries, and grants them the creative problem solving skills required to develop and implement their own ideas and concepts.

Training at the Doctoral School is free of charge. Everyone accepted to the Doctoral School (except for PhD students holding a doctor's title) receives a doctoral scholarship.

Graduates who choose a career in the industry tend to find high-ranking positions in international corporations from the ICT sector, many of which have established their R&D divisions in close proximity to the University.
