Key Summary

About : The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care (Top Up) is designed for those who already hold a relevant diploma and want to advance their professional skills. The course lasts one year and is tailored to enhance your understanding of health and social care systems. You'll explore policies, practices, and concepts that shape these sectors and engage in critical analysis of current issues.
Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue roles such as healthcare manager, social worker, or community development officer. Opportunities may also arise in policy development, public health, and various positions within non-profit organizations and government agencies.

The course is delivered by staff from the Health and Social Care Department at Furness College. All of the taught sessions are delivered at the Furness College site. The BSc (Level 6 academic studies) is designed to build on Level 4 and Level 5 academic study and experience. It provides the opportunity for shared and interprofessional learning as students studying in the course have to experience in health and social care environments.

The course offers you a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical classes to help you learn. These are supported by material on a virtual learning environment (VLE) or the UCLan's blackboard site. You will need to supplement the classes with reading and practical work in your own time.

The program will be as follows for full-time students. Part-time students will study three modules each year.
