Introduction
Envisage a career in manufacturing or design? By studying A Level Design and Technology, you will learn core technical, design, and manufacturing principles and additional specialist knowledge in material science and applications, manufacturing techniques, CAD/CAM skills, and how new technologies influence design.
This course aims to enhance those skills that many universities and employers value, such as effectively analyzing problems and situations, seeing a project through to a conclusion, meeting deadlines, and working to a budget. Students should develop the ability to draw on and apply a range of skills and knowledge from other subject areas to inform their design decisions and the application or development of technology. There are clear links between aspects of the specification content and other Computer Science, Business Studies, Art and Design, and History courses.
