Free University of Bozen-Bolzano
About
The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano is located in one of the most fascinating European regions, at the crossroads between the German-speaking and Italian economies and cultures. Its trilingualism in teaching and research, its high level of internationalisation as well as an ideal study environment guaranteed by its excellent facilities are some of the reasons why unibz regularly reaches top positions in national and international rankings.
The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano was founded in 1997. Our university has a strong international outlook, as testified by its multilingual courses (German, Italian, English, and Ladin) and the high number of students and teaching staff from abroad.
The taught modules on offer and our research projects are linked to international and inter-regional networks. For example, within the Euregio project, we are partnered with the universities of Innsbruck and Trento, and we are committed to reaching top quality standards.
The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano has four campuses:
Bozen-Bolzano is the main campus, with the central services and three of the five Faculties: Agricultural, Environmental and Food Sciences, Design and Art and Economics and Management.
The NOI Techpark campus is the second campus of Bozen-Bolzano with the Faculty of Engineering and numerous labs of the Faculty of Agricultural, environmental and food Sciences.
At the campus of Brixen-Bressanone you’ll find the Faculty of Education.
Bruneck-Brunico is the campus of the Bachelor in Tourism, Sport and Event Management and the Master in Tourism Management, which are part of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
In national rankings, our university reaches top positions every year. In 2024, for the eigth consecutive year, the Italian research centre for social studies Censis has ranked our university as number one among smaller private universities (less than 5,000 students). We rank high in international rankings too, especially under the categories ' internationalization', 'student satisfaction and 'practice-oriented.
