Founded October 3, 1887, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) is a public, historically Black university located in Tallahassee, Florida. What distinguishes FAMU from other universities is its legacy of providing access to a high-quality, affordable education with programs and services that guide students toward successfully achieving their dreams. FAMU is part of the State University System of Florida and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

In addition to the main Tallahassee campus, FAMU has several satellite campuses across Florida. These include the College of Law in Orlando and the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health, which has sites in Crestview, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami.

All International applicants applying to Florida A&M University are required to submit an online application. It is important to provide complete and accurate information. Incomplete information will delay the processing of your application. To apply for your initial form I-20 submit your complete international student admission application by the stated deadlines: November 15 for spring term and May 15 for fall term.

The University Scholarship Program is about creating a community of scholars who are equipped to make a positive impact on the world.

All applicants must have a 3.50 Unweighted GPA and one of the following:

  • SAT (1320) with a 670 Math SAT or greater
  • ACT(28) with a 28 Math ACT or greater

Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)

Florida A&M University has over 300 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus. Each organization is unique in its purpose and focus, but all stand firm in their mission to enhance the Rattler experience. The Office of Student Activities prides itself on offering diverse programs and having a wide array of different organizations on campus.

Clubs & Organizations

The Efferson Student Union & Activities (ESUA) is committed to the holistic development of student leaders by providing services, resources, events, and programs that allow students to deeply engage with each other, their organizations, and the overall family.

ESUA is an advocate for students and student organizations and provides quality and impactful programming by affording all students the opportunity to get involved in co-curricular activities.

Our office facilitates several different programs throughout the year that afford our students the opportunity to engage, discover and learn, about themselves and the community around them.
