Key Summary
Master's degree in Embedded and Smart Systems
Embedded systems provide the intelligence and performance in almost all modern devices. Their development requires a wide range of IT skills - namely expertise in hardware and software, including sensors and networking with the environment. The master's degree in "Embedded Systems Design" teaches precisely this know-how.
After this course, you will be able to create precisely those intelligent and networked products (“smart systems”) that are part of developments such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart home or digital production. Such high-tech innovations require professionally developed embedded systems made up of modern electronic and software components, integrated sensors and digital communication technology for data exchange in the network.
In addition to technical know-how, team and leadership skills are taught and knowledge of project management is expanded. Depending on their personal interests, students choose their focus areas as well as elective and advanced subjects and thus design their own individual studies.
Important facts
After this course, your combined expertise in hardware, software and system development will make you one of the most sought-after high-tech key employees in the IT industry. You will be able to develop embedded systems and integrate them optimally into a product.
This know-how is in demand in many areas of application where intelligent, networked products are involved: aviation, medical, security technology, fitness and entertainment electronics, smart home, mobile communications, assistance systems in cars, networked robots, industrial automation and digital production, and green technology. The Internet of Things and innovations in the areas of wearable computing or Industry 4.0 are also not possible without embedded systems.
