Civil engineers are experts in buildings - from planning to construction, from renovation to demolition. They plan, construct, monitor, they take on managerial and coordinating roles within construction teams and they learn to evaluate their designs and constructions mathematically using the latest technologies - both in the areas of safety and functionality as well as in terms of costs. With the help of building physics knowledge and knowledge in the field of building technology and building automation, civil engineers optimize new and existing building structures.

Essential basic knowledge is imparted through a project that accompanies students throughout their entire course of study. The necessary digital competence is developed as part of a six-semester series of courses on Building Information Modeling. A 10-week professional internship must be completed in the 6th semester.
