Introduction

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program prepares qualified students for leadership positions in the global marketplace. Future leaders will need to balance the goals of economic success with the constraints of greater social and environmental responsibility. Students are instructed by distinguished faculty with content area expertise and practical experience, learning to integrate changing human and information resources with continually developing technology, while nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit that has always been one of the key characteristics of successful businesses.

The future of Business Administration

The core of this program focuses on the development of skills that requires a competent and capable individual in the workforce. The goal is to help students to develop analytical and leadership skills and knowledge of organizations to make positive social, financial, and economic impacts. In this curriculum, students develop an understanding of how business and public organizations function; how they interact with individuals, and changes that occur during these interactions. Students take courses from five domain areas including Business Development and Analysis (BD&A), Leadership Development (LD), Organizations and Contexts (OC), Human Development (HD), and Organizational Psychology (OP).

Areas of Focus

The School of Business offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with the following four specializations:

  • Business Analytics
    Focuses on the use of business analytics to develop models using varied and complex data sets and, implementing model results to resolve complicated business problems.
  • Business Optimization
    Focuses on the development and implementation of plans for organizations to redefine and strategize for lean operations as well as maximize asset utilization, quality control, cost minimization, and institutional efficiencies.
  • Organizational Development and Human Resources
    Focuses on the principles of management, organizational behavior, operations management, strategy and policy, international management, and entrepreneurship to create and implement innovative organizational development strategies to help organizations transform and sustain their long-term development.
  • Social Innovation and Sustainable Businesses
    Focuses on the development of sustainable models for organizations to leverage ethical, organizational, and communal needs and, implementing innovative strategies for helping organizations thrive in uncertain environments.
