What is Chemical Engineering?

Chemical Engineering involves the development of sustainable and safe Processes to convert raw materials into value-added products. In a word, “Transformation”! Thus, a Chemical Engineer is devoted to the design, development, sizing, improvement, application, and operation of Processes (chemical, physical, or biological) that allow the desired Products to be obtained.

Generic Objectives

The main objective of the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering (M.EQ) is to train professionals in the field of Chemical Engineering or related areas with the highest quality standard, having in mind professional careers in the context of either industrial practice or research activities, among many others.

Emphasizing a practical engineering culture together with project activity, the syllabus offers students the possibility of acquiring specific competencies in one of the following areas (specializations): i) Processes and Products; ii) Energy; iii) Biotechnology; iv) Environment.
