Bachelor in Hotel and Gastronomic Business Management (UdG)

The Degree in Hotel and Gastronomic Business Management is an official university degree, accredited by the University of Girona. It consists of 240 ECTS spread over four years and the curriculum includes theoretical classes, practical classes and professional visits to hotels, restaurants, wineries and research centres, among others.

Among the theoretical subjects, you will find subjects related to the management of hotel and restaurant businesses; others related to the tourist environment and a third block of subjects on hotel operations and management. To all of these, you will have to add the optional subjects that will define which of the three specialities of the university degree you will choose.

Internships

Knowing the theory is good, but knowing how to apply it in practice and understanding the why behind the processes and decisions that are made is vitally important. So, get ready for a day-to-day experience in which you will combine theory and practice at the pioneering university School in Europe.

You will learn first-hand how a hotel reception works, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day running of a professional kitchen and you will be part of the dining room team of a restaurant open to the public. This will allow you to apply the knowledge you have acquired and, of course, gain experience and professionalism.

At the end of the four-degree courses, you will obtain the official university Diploma in Hotel and Gastronomic Business Management from the University of Girona (official degree), with the corresponding mention in Hotel Management or Gastronomy, Restaurants and Events.

In addition, you will also obtain a Bachelor's Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management from EUHT StPOL (own degree), indicating the corresponding specialization: International Hotel Management, Restaurant and Event Management or Gastronomy and Kitchen Management.

At the Graduation Ceremony in Hotel and Gastronomic Business Management, you will also receive a third diploma: HSD Student Learning Visual Transcript accredited by Hotel Schools of Distinction (HSD). It is a unique international certification in the world developed and endorsed by this network of leading international hotel universities.

After studies, what?

If you choose the speciality in International Hotel Management, you will not only be able to become a hotel director, but you will also be able to lead a hotel company, work in hotel consulting, direct a Revenue Management, Quality or Human Resources department, among others.

Beyond hotel management, with a specialization in Restaurant and Event Management, you can become a restaurant manager, and work as a Food & Beverage Director in sectors as diverse as a hotel chain, a restaurant group, a cruise company or a theme park, among many others. Not to mention the management of event companies or the management of catering companies.
