Since ancient times, humans have created homes. In this course, we'll explore this evolution from humanity to the present day to understand and learn how habitat and interior design have gone hand in hand throughout history.
Design and decorative styles

History of furniture
It will show the student, through images, the bases for understanding the evolution of antique furniture, to understand the influence of art and architecture on the furniture of each era.
We will analyze its influence on the present day and how furniture has been constantly reinvented since ancient times.
A tour will be made of the different artistic and decorative styles,
tracking both the types of housing and the evolution of furniture, from Egypt, Greece, Rome to Neoclassicism, passing through Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Art Deco, Modernism, Bauhaus, High-Tech.

Textiles and accessories
Textiles and their application methods are a whole world within decoration.
There is a vast array of possibilities that students can discover and analyze, not only in terms of forms, but also in terms of qualities, textures, trends, and patterns.
Textiles as fundamental elements for a perfect decoration in a home: the student will learn to make a perfect selection of the
same depending on each client profile or each decorative style that you want to compose.
And of course, we'll also look at upholstered furniture: how it's designed, how it's created step by step, and the final result.
Color theory and psychology
The student will study the importance of color and what sensations colors transmit to people's moods.
Each color has a meaning, and therefore, we must understand what Color Theory or Psychology is and how it works. With the different applications of color, we will decipher what our client may feel or perceive in their own project. Mastering color applied to psychology is an exciting challenge.
Trends
Using selected images, it will show students the foundations for understanding the evolution of decorative trends over the past two decades to the present day.
We'll analyze its influence today, both in the press and on social media, and how it constantly reinvents itself, making the trend something very personal and influential.
