Introduction
Master's Degrees in Fine Arts (Low-Residency)
Our low-residency MFA program is structured around three consecutive four-week summer intensive residencies on campus in Vancouver during the month of July, with innovative and interactive online coursework in between.
The program is designed for established professionals whose practical circumstances make re-location to Vancouver, or the resident program schedule, unmanageable, the low residency platform allows more flexibility in managing balance in your life. The requirements and benefits, including professional opportunities, access to technologies and shop support, and the independent study period are equivalent to the full-residency program; the difference is in the mode, duration and rhythm of delivery.
The three summer residencies exceed a full-time schedule and are periods of intense development, allowing you to deepen your creative research and material practice within a supportive community. The MFA low-residency includes online learning during the fall and spring terms.
