Introduction

The postgraduate course in Hand Surgery is aimed at training professionals to diagnose, treat and prevent congenital and acquired diseases, and traumatic injuries that affect the hand from an interdisciplinary perspective. With the program, we seek that professionals who develop educational programs for the general population and for the medical and paramedical community help prevent, treat, rehabilitate and reintegrate patients with upper limb pathology into the productive community. In addition, we intend that residents provide advice to occupational health services and entities in charge of the professional risks of work accidents and occupational diseases in the multidisciplinary programs that are implemented for the protection of workers in pathologies related to the upper limb in the job. Finally, we seek that the graduates collaborate with sports trainers, sports doctors, and other specialties that attend sports and leisure-time recreational activities that have to do with acquired or traumatic pathology in the hand and upper limb; and that they provide advice and attention in prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation in music programs where pathology due to overuse can often be seen.
