Key Summary

About : The Bachelor in Dental Prosthetics focuses on developing skills to create and fit dental prosthetics. Students learn about the principles of dental technology, including materials, methods, and design. The program encompasses both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to prepare students for real-world challenges in the field.
Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue various roles, such as dental technicians, prosthodontic specialists, and laboratory managers. They may find opportunities in private dental practices, dental labs, and healthcare institutions, utilizing their skills to improve patients' oral health and aesthetics.

The dental prosthetics degree lasts three years and, throughout the course, there is a constant concern to create a solid foundation in dental prosthetics combined with technological innovation. The digital world is a reality, and we couldn't fail to offer training in this regard. Our students benefit from analogue and digital training in all curricular units.

To make this happen, the dental prosthetic department has been remodelled and new spaces created. We now have three remodelled laboratories for practical classes, a CAD-CAM room fully equipped to reproduce the entire digital workflow for producing prosthetic work, with 16 computers, four printers, and three milling machines. We have semi-adjustable articulators and a digital facial arch, the result of a partnership with Amann Girrbach.

The teaching method is based mainly on methods that place the student at the centre of the learning process, encouraging research and active participation, both individually and in groups. We encourage active participation through publications, be they scientific poster communications or scientific articles.

We also focus on the social and environmental responsibility of our students, showing the importance of playing an active role in society, promoting civic and altruistic attitudes. For the first time, in the 2024/2025 academic year, the Dental Prosthetics degree programme took part in volunteering activities in this area, having received very positive feedback not only from the students, but above all from the institutions where we work.

The degree in Prosthodontics also includes international mobility, either through the Erasmus programme, in partnership with the Faculty of Ljubljana in Slovenia, or through international internships in various locations.
