Introduction
The Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) is your starting point if you’re new to accountancy. You will learn the fundamentals of business economics, financial accounting, management accounting, and ethical considerations of commercial activity. Most students take around 6 to 12 months to complete the qualification, which consists of four subjects, assessed by computer-based exams.
Once you have passed this qualification, you can work in account clerks or administration roles. You can then move onto studying CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Professional qualification and begin with CIMA Operational.

Requirements
A South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a good understanding of English and Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy.
The certificate consists of four subjects:
BA1: Fundamentals of Economics;
BA2: Fundamentals of Management Accounting;
BA3: Fundamentals of Financial Accounting;
BA4: Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance, and Business Law
Qualifying as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with CIMA will open up Global job opportunities from multinationals like Coca-Cola, Deloitte, Nestle - to the newest start-ups in the public and private sectors. Chances are, in any industry you can think of, there will be CGMA designation holders.
