As an expert in business psychology, you like to ask questions and want to find answers. You are interested in what people in organizations feel and think, what makes them productive and how they deal with rapid change in a digitalized, global world. You want to know how people behave in consumer situations, what motivates them and which key stimuli influence their decisions. With this knowledge, you can recognize trends and developments in your future field of activity. Building on this, you will define goals, implement them in the world of work and organize collaboration correctly. You will understand your customers and develop product or marketing concepts that are tailored to their needs. In doing so, you will learn from the experience of empirical studies and meet the requirements of your professional practice with the concepts of personnel, work and organizational psychology, and the findings from market and consumer psychology in all its essential forms, such as health psychology, intercultural psychology and media psychology.

Study content »Business Psychology«

Business Psychology is an interdisciplinary course of study at the interface between psychology and business. The focus is on people, their motives, their behavior and the influences on their mental health. You will learn to empirically examine practical problems from a psychological perspective and to implement them in concrete action plans, taking into account the company's economic goals. You will deal with issues of personnel management and development, learn coaching and communication techniques and reflect the findings on yourself. In the course of your studies, you will develop social skills that you will draw on as a manager in the company. Building on basic legal, economic and methodological knowledge, you will work your way into the basic subjects of psychology (e.g. social psychology or general psychology). On this basis, you will deepen your knowledge of personnel and organizational psychology as well as consumer and media psychology in the higher semesters. With your "Business Psychology B.Sc." degree, you will be optimally prepared for the latest requirements in the fields of personnel development, company organization and marketing management.

From the lecture to the test laboratory

Studying business psychology is a field of tension between people and business. You will therefore be exposed to the psychological triad of emotion, behavior and cognition. The Business Psychology course focuses on building your methodological skills. You will learn all the essential quantitative, qualitative, diagnostic and experimental methods and implement them directly. In the test laboratory, you will discover under real conditions what it means to set up and carry out a test procedure.
