This M.S. degree is intended to provide students with advanced preparation in both theoretical and applied knowledge and skills. The program is divided into three components: teacher research core, concentration, and electives.

In the Literacy concentration, students have the opportunity to work with children who are in kindergarten through third grade and collect a range of literacy events to describe and analyze. In the culminating project, students will also demonstrate their convictions and capacity related to supporting the development of readers at the elementary level in the areas of guiding principles, literacy-rich learning environments, instructional approaches and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners.
