Master of Science in Education Career and Technical Education

Update and expand your professional knowledge with Eastern Oregon University's 36-credit Master of Science in Education: Career & Technical Education program. Transfer in previous credits to gain the skills you need and complete your degree in as few as five quarters. This CTE master’s degree, which can be completed fully online, will prepare you to be a CTE teacher in diverse areas of specialized education, such as business, culinary arts, automotive, graphic design, engineering and more.

This M.S. degree is intended to empower you with advanced preparation in both theoretical and applied knowledge and skills. A bachelor’s degree in education is not required. This program enables you to leverage your industry experience by providing a pathway to fulfilling the requirements to become a CTE teacher. The program includes core courses in qualitative and quantitative research, literature review and research project proposals and presentations.

You will also complete 15 credit hours of specialization courses, which are offered at a substantial discount to help address the shortage of qualified CTE teachers and support students' rising interest in career and technical courses. Courses span a wide range of topics, including CTE classroom management, literacy methods, applied mathematics, culturally responsive practices and curriculum, instruction and assessment.
