The online Post-Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate is meant for those who earned a bachelor’s degree outside of accounting and want to become an accountant or CPA. Those with an accounting degree may also need additional credit hours in order to sit for the CPA exam. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the nation’s increased demand for qualified accountants is closely tied to the health of the overall economy, and you could help satisfy that demand with our accounting certificate program.

For entry into the online Post-Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate program, you must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and be formally admitted to EOU as a post-baccalaureate undergraduate student through completing the undergraduate application. Additionally, prerequisite courses must be completed that are not part of the certificate. These include financial accounting, managerial accounting, business communications, information management, macroeconomics, statistics and college algebra.

In the certificate program, you will study intermediate/advanced accounting, not-for-profit accounting, cost accounting and forensic accounting. Upper-level coursework will prepare you for various types of accounting plus taxation; you will take courses in business finance, income tax, corporate tax, auditing and managerial finance.

EOU’s business programs are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
