Introduction
Undergraduate Course - Manufacturing Engineering
The Manufacturing Engineering virtual academic program is the first virtual academic program offered in Colombia. It aims at training enterprising professionals with knowledge in planning, managing and controlling manufacturing processes with the purpose of improving indicators of efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in companies on a national and international basis.
The academic training areas of the Manufacturing Engineer are Materials and Manufacturing Processes, Production Systems Management, Quality Management, Industrial Safety, Environment, and Industrial Automation.
The program has an academic staff with broad academic and business experience, as well as with solid methodological training, thus making the learning process easier.
The curriculum is organized by thematic and problematic units, thus favoring flexibility, integration of theory and practice, and interdisciplinary work. It also allows students to be efficient in managing time and resources.
Similarly, students have technological tools to make their learning process easier. Such tools include the virtual classrooms technology platform, tutoring systems through videoconferences, access to virtual classrooms via mobile devices or cell phones, and simulated and remote labs, amongst other.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
It is advisable for students to have constant access to a computer with internet access. The minimum requirements for having access to the virtual platform of Universidad EAN are as follows: a PC holding a Pentium processor, at least 1 GB RAM, internet access, and the Microsoft Windows XP operating system or an advanced version.
Universidad EAN uses campus platforms and virtual classrooms to facilitate not only the access to different services but also the academic interaction between students and tutors. Consequently, the campus becomes the university environment for the student, and the virtual classrooms become the classrooms.
It is necessary to install always the last version of Java programs, and browsers other than Internet Explorer.
