    About : The Tourism and Hospitality program provides a comprehensive understanding of the global tourism and hospitality sectors. Students will explore essential topics such as management, marketing, and sustainability within these industries. The program aims to equip graduates with the skills needed to succeed in various roles within tourism and hospitality.
    Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue careers in diverse fields such as hotel management, travel consultancy, event planning, and tourism marketing. Opportunities also exist in sustainable tourism development and hospitality operations management. This program prepares students for dynamic roles in a vital and growing industry.

School of Tourism

Today tourism in Chile and the world has experienced a strong growth, generating different types of activities ranging from outdoor and eco-tourism, working aboard a cruise, in the culinary and gastronomical sectors, or within airports and hotels, among others.

Duoc UC students will develop language skills in English and Portuguese, work with technological tools related to tourism, and experience the satisfaction of a “job well done” by seeing the smile of satisfied customers.

Tourism and Hospitality

This degree has two programs that share the same curriculum but one is taught in Spanish and the other one is completely taught in English. Graduates from Tourism and Hospitality have the skills to work in the areas of management and administration, both locally and internationally, in various tourism businesses: hotels, bed & breakfasts, hostels, restaurants, cruises, convention centers, catering & events, tour operators, wholesalers and agencies, public administration and municipalities, tourist information, consulting, air transportation enterprises and car rentals. They are also capable of undertaking their own businesses and innovation projects for the industry.

  • Professional Title: Tourism and Hospitality Manager.
  • Technical Title: Tourism and Hospitality Technician.

How to apply

First, check that your home university or polytechnic institute has an ongoing exchange agreement with Duoc UC.

Thoroughly research your prospective courses. Most of our programs are in Spanish; therefore make sure you have sufficient proficiency in this language for your classes. We do offer a free 44-hour Spanish course for all non-native Spanish speakers, but in order to successfully complete your courses, we advise at least an intermediate Spanish level.

For non-Spanish speakers, Duoc UC also offers the Tourism and Hospitality Program, fully taught in English

Please bear in mind that after receiving your documentation it can take up to a month for us to process it and send you an answer, due a large amount of documentation we receive during the admission periods.

Application deadlines

15 August– 15 October*: application for the first semester, March – July term

15 February – 15 April*: application for the second semester, August – December term

*We advise students with Chinese nationality to apply as soon as the application period begins since the visa procedure can take up to six months.

Acceptance letter

A month after the application period ends, students will be informed via e-mail whether they have been accepted or not. In the case of being accepted, a hard copy of the acceptance letter will be sent to the International Student Officer of the student’s home institution.
