Introduction

Real estate requires professional management and administration. The "Facility and Property Management" course is a further development of the established "Facility Management" course and, from autumn 2019, will not only teach business administration and legal knowledge and skills for facility management, but also for property management.

A central cross-cutting topic in the "Facility and Property Management" course is sustainable real estate. Only by approaching buildings’ life cycles from a holistic point of view can their long-term economic, socially acceptable and environmentally friendly use be ensured. Climate change, digitalization and ethical issues are placing changing demands on real estate management, operation and conversion. Today, strategies and concrete measures - such as new energy systems or new utilization and operating concepts - need to be planned and implemented to make our buildings fit for the future.
