Applicants need to be a Masters' degree graduate, with a background in science, technology, or social sciences/humanities. Those from social sciences/humanities should have some exposure to scientific methods, particularly in the use of statistics, in fields such as (but not limited to) economics, finance, sociology, linguistics, and related areas.

Also, applicants should have 4 to 5 years of professional experience, ideally in roles related or connected to science and/or technology. Applicants with managerial (including junior management) positions are particularly sought after.

The eligibility may involve to go through DSTI very own entry examination.
