M.Eng in Preventive Fire Protection

The master's degree program in Preventive Fire Protection is intended to close the training gap in fire protection between the study of architecture, civil engineering and other engineering disciplines and the high professional and personal requirements of knowledgeable fire protection engineers in accordance with legal and professional requirements. It is aimed primarily at engineers from the broad spectrum of those involved in construction and is intended to provide the necessary in-depth knowledge of fire protection. The aim is also to help students gain subject-specific competence and entrepreneurial skills by deepening their academic knowledge and supplementing their practical professional experience.

The students develop the technical, methodological and personal skills required for this under scientific guidance and support on the basis of planning exercises, example projects, training and demonstrations in laboratories and research facilities as well as in communication workshops. The course combines face-to-face and self-study phases, seminars and exercises open to discussion, excursions and activities outside of the course in a special way in order to promote intensive professional and personal contact with the lecturers and each other.

In order to consolidate or expand your position as a manager, you also need to develop your own personality. The development of one's own personality is stimulated in the Master's program in Preventive Fire Protection through specialist knowledge, particularly in the area of expert witnessing (e.g. types, assignments, roles, actions/aspects of liability and insurance) and fire protection concepts (types, content, differentiation, phases, Involved). However, so-called human knowledge when managing employees is based not only on professional competence, but also on communicative competence (conflict management), personal competence (ability to self-reflect) or methodological competence (e.g. solution orientation). All of these skills mentioned are also taught with a view to personal development, especially in the sense of becoming a leader.
