Introduction

The Department of History is composed of 3 areas of specialization: Korean history, Asian history, Western history. A structural understanding of each major period of specialization—ancient, medieval, modern—is promoted through study. Then, a deeper understanding of the specified area will be acquired through research into the ideology, culture, and social-economic system. In order to support this primary in-depth study, philological research into Eastern and Western historical records will be conducted at the same time as research into cultural properties, field investigations, and historical education research, all of which will reinforce practically the content of the study.
