What is AVEI?

  • Animation, Visual Effects, and Interactive Content (AVEI) is a one-year, full-time program taught by industry-veteran instructors on the same state-of-the-art technology used by major studios.
  • Completion of this certificate program will prepare students with a professional demo reel showcasing their skills in animation, visual effects, and interactive content.

When can I start?

  • There are two annual enrollment periods in August and January.
  • Classes are held on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (CST) for in-person and virtual students, and from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (CST) for online night students.

How does it work?

AVEI: 2D & 3D TERM 2D Term Components: Compositing Rotoscoping Match Moving 3D Integration Final 2D Project 3D Term Components: 3D Modeling Lighting Game Assets Animation Motion Capture Final 3D Project ** Each final project is six weeks and 150 hours. Students team up to make a short film utilizing a workflow that simulates a studio environment.

When can I start?

AVEI Class is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, for both in-class and virtual students. Attendance is essential to course completion. At the end, of course, students will produce a demo reel, as well as group projects to showcase their skills for prospective employers.

  • All equipment, hardware, and software needed to complete this program are provided to our students.
  • DMI is nationally accredited in the United States of America.

100% Online in the U.S.

  • Classes are 5-hours a day and synchronous with real-time, 2-way video between instructor and teaching assistant.
  • Day Classes: Students attending AVEI online for the day section attend classes synchronously with the in-person AVEI students from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (CST).
  • Night Classes: Students attending AVEI online for the night section attend classes from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (CST), and the night section runs for a year and a half.
