Master in Textile Design

In Textile Design we educate design collaborators who are well-grounded to work in teams that reach beyond the discipline’s own boundaries, for example with industry in general, architects, the fashion industry and others who work with visual narratives.

For the same reasons, the students develop the ability to inquire into and reflect on contemporary life and society in all its complexity. Without an understanding of the paradoxes of our time, it is impossible to develop and facilitate projects that are relevant. We ensure this approach by choosing students who have a natural aptitude to engage these issues and who display an obvious interest and curiosity in their surroundings. We strengthen this by ensuring that the students are part of a department that employs a broad range of guest teachers who master their métier.

A sense of ethics, as regards textile projects and their narratives, are as much a part of the discipline as are considerations of sustainability and resources when designing for industrial production.
