The academic vice-rector of the university in accordance with its missionary guidelines establishes mechanisms to promote the development of teaching and research in the ecosystem and cultural diversity of Chocó Biogeográfica, the use and management of natural resources with the purpose of generating scientific criteria that allow contributing to the social and economic development of the region.
From there, efforts are made to transform the academy, seeking the pertinence and relevance of the education tending to transform, with an emphasis on teaching to give way to education focused on learning; In this sense, it seeks a more meaningful education that privileges training by competencies and therefore develops new technologies and methodologies that allow a dynamism and pro-activity of the academic processes that result in the integral training of professionals.
