Learning Frameworks: Students pursuing an Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree with less than 12 completed college-level hours will be required to take and complete EDUC 1300, a first-year general elective course that will contribute to student success by addressing factors that impact learning in college, including research and theory in learning; strategies to monitor, regulate and control cognition, motivation, and behavior; and the ability to think ethically and critically.

To be eligible to receive this A.A. degree, you must:

Complete the required 60 credit hours listed in this degree;
Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301 and the selected college-level mathematics course;
Receive a GPA of at least 2.00 based on all college-level course work, which includes credits transferable to Dallas College;
Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements and course prerequisites and
Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.

Core Curriculum: The Core Curriculum is a solid foundation of the 42-hour Core Curriculum. Its nine (9) Foundational Component Areas (FCA) are embedded in this degree and are identified by Coordinating Board (CB) codes. Completing the Core will enable you to meet the challenges of your college career head-on. As you work to complete the 60 hours required for the A.A. degree, you will also meet the Dallas College 42-hour Core Curriculum.

Distance Learning/Online: This A.A. degree may be taken through a combination of on-campus and Distance Learning/Online courses; or if planned correctly, the degree may be completed entirely through Distance Learning/Online.

Transfer: Receiving institutions are not required to accept a grade below "C" in transfer. If you plan to transfer, work closely with an advisor/counselor.
