Introduction
Orthodontics (Ph.D.)
The doctoral program of the Department of Orthodontics at Cyprus Health And Social Sciences University, offered by the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, aims to train qualified orthodontist specialists and dentists who examine the disorders and irregularities in the jaw and face region and prepare a treatment plan, are qualified in the field, have contemporary, analytical, and critical thinking, and use the most up-to-date information and technologies.
The PhD Orthodontics program provides the academic and clinical experience for a successful private practice or academic career. Program completion will depend on fulfilling program requirements including; coursework, clinical case completion, seminars, and successful defence of research findings (thesis).
The PhD students are required to complete the same core courses as the MSc students, but additional courses related to their specific area of research may be required.
Scholarships and Funding
All prospective international students are granted a 50% tuition fee scholarship.
There is a huge range of scholarship opportunities available for our prospective international students across the world, ranging from partial scholarships which cover some tuition fees, to full scholarships which cover the duration of your studies. The majority of scholarships cover tuition fees only.
There are also many different types of scholarships for international students from certain regions, or even students studying in a certain field.
Program Outcome
The skeletal features of the jaws, patient diagnosis and treatment, knowledge, abilities, and attitudes in dental alignment are all included in the PhD program in orthodontics.

Graduates of the orthodontics doctoral degree might pursue a career as an academic with the title "Doctor of Science" or as a dentist in public or private health care facilities.
