Course description

Curtinโ€™s finance courses are designed to suit students with differing backgrounds and career goals. Curtinโ€™s Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance offers a solid grounding in finance and business management, which can be applied to your workplace or extended to the master degree. The master degree is designed for professionals aiming to advance their career through a deeper understanding of finance. It provides knowledge in the principles of finance along with an overview of financial market operations and specialised knowledge of equity, corporate debt, foreign exchange markets, derivatives and interest rate determinants. You will also study current financial industry concepts, economic trends and the interpretation of financial statements, and will have access to Curtinโ€™s Trading Room and industry-standard software. High achieving students may participate in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. As a graduate of this program, you will be well placed to pursue a broad range of careers in areas of finance including corporate finance, financial institutions, markets and analyst roles.

Admission criteria

  • A bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution in the field of business OR
  • A bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary an institution in any field with relevant work experience OR
  • A graduate certificate or graduate diploma in the field of business AND
  • Meet Curtinโ€™s English proficiency requirements.
