Introduction
The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at City University, Ajman is a five-year program that prepares students to become skilled and ethical dental practitioners. Delivered in English, the program is designed to cultivate a strong foundation in scientific knowledge, patient-centered care, and community service. It supports the regional demand for qualified dental professionals while emphasizing integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
The curriculum offers a comprehensive integration of basic medical sciences, pre-clinical lab training, and clinical practice. From the early years, students are introduced to hands-on experiences that evolve into full patient care responsibilities under expert supervision. Courses cover all key dental disciplines such as orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and pediatric dentistry. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based dentistry, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring that graduates are both technically proficient and holistically trained.

Scholarships and Funding
City University Ajman is committed to offering top-quality education to students from all tiers of society, regardless of gender, race, religion, or nationality. CU Ajman recognizes that financial considerations play an important role in a student’s decision to pursue higher education. Hence, the University offers a number of grants, allowances and scholarships.
Scholarship for Siblings
- A scholarship of 20% on the tuition fees for brothers, sisters, or spouses studying at CU Ajman (both family members must register in the same semester in order to take advantage of this discount) for undergraduate programs.
- A scholarship of 10% on the tuition fees for brothers, sisters, or spouses studying at CU Ajman (both family members must register in the same semester in order to take advantage of this discount) for Health Science programs.
- A scholarship of 15% on the tuition fees for brothers, sisters, or spouses studying at CU Ajman (both family members must register in the same semester in order to take advantage of this discount) for the graduate program.
Individual Needs Scholarship
The Individual Needs Scholarship is a type of scholarship awarded on a case-by-case basis. Students must present evidence of financial hardship to Student Affairs or Registration for approval. Students under this scholarship must maintain class attendance of not less than 80% and a certain CGPA approved by the scholarship committee.
Merit Scholarships up to 50%
The Merit Scholarship is up to a 50% reduction of the tuition fee. CU Ajman awards this scholarship to new students with a secondary school score of 90% and above, with a condition to maintain a CGPA of 3.8 and above, and registering a minimum of 15 CH in each semester.

Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Scholarship
The Rashid Bin Humaid Scholarship is a merit scholarship that aims to ensure that financial difficulties do not bar qualified students from pursuing higher education. CU Ajman is committed to offering top-quality education to students from all tiers of society, regardless of gender, race, religion, or nationality. CU Ajman recognizes that financial considerations play an important role in a student’s decision to pursue higher education. Hence, the University offers a number of grants and allowances under the Rashid Bin Humaid Scholarship Program to ensure that adverse financial situations do not prevent exceptionally talented students from achieving their higher education goals at CU. Scholarship is available to all students who meet the prescribed criteria. Students may apply for a scholarship on the basis of academic excellence, athletic achievements, and financial challenges.
The scholarship is tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of each student and may be provided via any of the following modes: work-study opportunities, grants, allowances, and employment opportunities. Application forms can be obtained from the Registration Department and must be submitted with all the required documents relevant to support scholarship requests. Short-listed students will be called for an interview, and scholarships will be awarded purely on a merit basis through an approved process.

Graduates of the BDS program are eligible to pursue diverse roles in the dental field. Career paths include working as a general dentist or pursuing specializations such as orthodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist, prosthodontist, endodontist, implantologist, or pediatric dentist.
