About: The Higher Certificate in Community Counselling at Cornerstone trains lay counselors to support mental health and well-being across churches, schools, NGOs and faith-based organizations. It’s a 122–124 credit programme one year full-time or two years part-time on campus with January and July intakes. Admission requires National Senior Certificate, NCV or matriculation; mature applicants may qualify via RPL and NBT.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can work as community counselors, pastoral counselors, school support workers, NGO client facilitators or well-being assistants. They’ll gain practical counseling skills, crisis intervention and referral knowledge for roles in social services, community outreach and faith-based care settings.

Admission Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or National Certificate Vocational (with certificate pass);
- Matriculation Certificate or equivalent;
- Mature students (45 years or later) can be admitted, determined by the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) conditions and the results of the National Benchmarking Test (NBT).
