Associate in Fine Arts in Theatre

If you’re a creative type, chances are you’re motivated by more than just a paycheck. But that doesn’t mean the “starving actor” stereotype is true. The Associate in Fine Arts in Theatre program at College of The Albemarle (COA) is the perfect way to explore your creative passions while preparing to transfer for your Bachelor of Fine Arts and pursue a host of careers in the theatre. From your sketchbook to the stage, let’s work to transform your creative passion into purpose.

Enjoy hands-on practice on the stage and behind the curtain. Theatre students will develop their acting skill, learn about theater production and stagecraft, and even hone their dance and voice skills. As part of our COAST (COA Student Theatre) Players students have the opportunity to perform in and help produce major plays and musicals each year in our 1,000-seat auditorium.
