Key Summary
The MSc in Finance offers rigorous training to master financial theories and techniques and develop strong quantitative reasoning, along with the latest technological skills in finance. You can study full-time for 1 year with opportunities to go on exchange and study field trips, or part-time for 2 years.
Relevant and applicable skills
This program provides a solid foundation in portfolio analysis, credit analysis, risk modelling, structured finance, sales and trading, operations and more. You will receive hands-on training in options, futures, trading strategies and algorithms, arbitrage and high-frequency trading.
Practical experience
You will experience real market operations in the Finance Trading Laboratory and learn how to react to market fluctuations with guidance from professional traders at world-renowned financial organisations. The lab has 53 workstations equipped with Bloomberg and Reuters terminals, carrying with real-time data feeds from all major stock exchanges, including those in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Osaka, New York and Europe.
Admission scholarship
Merit-based scholarship, STEM scholarships, Bank of China – CUHK International Scholarship and Hong Kong Stock Exchange Scholarship are awarded to applicants in recognition of their academic excellence. One applicant may receive a combination of multiple scholarships, covering up to 100% of the total tuition fee.

Loans for non-local students
Prodigy Finance offers postgraduate loans for students studying abroad. The loans can cover only tuition and are not available to citizens and permanent residents of Hong Kong.
This is tailored for fresh graduates and junior professionals who want to obtain a solid foundation in finance and quantitative skills.
- Full-time: To complete the programme, you will need to attain 36 credits of coursework, comprising 8 core courses and 12 credits of electives.
- Part-time: To complete the programme, you will need to attain 30 credits of coursework, comprising of 5 core courses and 15 credits of elective.
