Charles Sturt University (CSU) is a multi-campus public university in Australia, established in 1989 through the amalgamation of several regional institutions. Named after British explorer Charles Napier Sturt, the university's origins trace back to the late 19th century with the establishment of the Bathurst Experiment Farm in 1895 and the Wagga Experiment Farm in 1896, which laid the foundation for agricultural and vocational education in regional New South Wales. Today, CSU stands as Australia's largest regional university, committed to delivering accessible, high-quality education and fostering community engagement across its diverse campuses.

CSU operates multiple campuses across New South Wales, including in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Port Macquarie, and Wagga Wagga, as well as specialist campuses in Canberra, Goulburn, Parramatta, Sydney, and Melbourne . The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs through its three faculties: Arts and Education; Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences; and Science and Health . CSU is renowned for its strong emphasis on practical, industry-aligned education, particularly in fields such as agriculture, health, education, and policing. Additionally, it is recognized as Australia's most experienced online university, providing flexible learning options to accommodate diverse student needs.

Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, CSU became Australia's first official carbon-neutral university in 2016 . The university's ethos is encapsulated in the Wiradjuri phrase "Yindyamarra Winhanganha," meaning "the wisdom of respectfully knowing how to live well in a world worth living in," reflecting its dedication to Indigenous culture and community values . CSU has a strong track record in supporting students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, including First Nations students and those from rural and low socio-economic areas, consistently achieving high graduate employment rates . Through its focus on regional development, inclusivity, and innovation, Charles Sturt University continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of higher education in Australia.
